Once a Spur, Always a Spur

​The Spurs Sorority Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization which was incorporated in 2010 for the purpose of raising money towards scholarship funds for current Spurs actives and students at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

​Spurs Sorority was founded in 1932 at Westmoreland College in San Antonio, which was later incorporated into Trinity University. Spurs was founded under the leadership of Ms. Lura Stokes Meyers and Ms. Marilyn Zirkel Wacker, and was originally a pep club to "spur" on Trinity athletes. Spurs was later formally defined as a sorority in 1937 under the leadership of Trinity history professor Dr. Frances K. Hendricks. Spurs is the oldest student organization at Trinity, and proudly boasts over 1,400 Spur-exes.
